Down The Road
There’s a funny thing about time—it keeps going, whether we’re ready or not. One day you’re making plans, chasing goals, and thinking about what’s next; the next, you look up and realize how far you’ve already come.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about that Japanese phrase mono no aware—the gentle sadness in recognizing that everything is fleeting. The cherry blossoms fall, summer fades, the road keeps unwinding ahead. But there’s beauty in that impermanence too. It’s a reminder to stop now and then, to breathe it in, to appreciate what’s here before it’s gone.
We spend so much of our time thinking about what’s down the road—the next project, the next milestone, the next big thing. But the truth is, the road is only made up of moments like this one. And if we don’t notice them, we miss the whole journey.
So here’s to slowing down a little. To looking around. To being present for the small things that will someday be the stories we tell.
And speaking of stories—there’s something new on the horizon. I can’t share the full details just yet, but let’s just say the road ahead is about to get interesting. Stay tuned.
